WEEKEND ACTION – July 6-7th

The opening race weekend of July sees Team SUZUKI ECSTAR in action for round 9 of the MotoGP™ World Championship at Sachsenring in Germany.

In today’s Free Practice (FP2), Alex Rins put the GSX-RR into second position ahead of tomorrow’s final FP3 and qualifying, while team-mate Joan Mir logged 13th.

In America, round 7 of the Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Championship heads to the RedBud National where JGRMX/ Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing’s new rider Fredrick Noren is keen to improve in his second ride on the RM-Z450 after finishing a creditable 5-7 last weekend at Southwick. He is joined by Alex Martin and Kyle Peters on their RM-Z250 machinery racing the 250cc class.

July 7:
Round 9. MotoGP™. HJC Helmets Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland. Sachsenring. Germany. In the series standings, Alex Rins sits 4th in the points – following his 1st MotoGP win in America, second in Spain and other strong performances so far, despite his unfortunate slip-off last weekend whilst leading. Team-mate and MotoGP Rookie, Joan Mir, who continues to improve after some hard-fought races this season is now 14th. Tomorrow will see both GSX-RR riders tackle FP3, then FP4 before the all-important qualifying session to determine grid positions for Sunday’s race.

July 6-7: Round 7. AMA Motocross. Redbud MX National. Buchanan. Michigan. Fredrick Noren was drafted into the team last weekend and scored the best result for the JGRMX/ Yoshimura Suzuki Team in the 450cc class so far. Noren currently holds 11th in the points, while in the 250cc class, RM-Z250 riders Alex Martin and Kyle Peters are 9th and 22nd respectively.
