KENT MAKES CADWELL PARK SUPERBIKE DEBUT

Team Suzuki Press Office – August 27.

Danny Kent will make his Superbike debut at Cadwell Park this bank holiday weekend, with the famous Lincolnshire circuit hosting the seventh round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship on August 27-29th.

Kent has only ridden the circuit once before – aboard a GSX-R1000R Superstock bike as part of a three-hour endurance race last year – and as a result is expecting a sizeable learning curve as he continues to develop his track knowledge, all while hustling a full-fat Superbike around.

Danny Kent:

“I’m going into this weekend with a very open mind and, honestly, no real expectations. I’ve only been to Cadwell once before, and as everyone knows it’s a very unique, very specific circuit where track knowledge really does count for a lot. If I’m honest I’m not ever so excited about this weekend because it’s hard not to feel like I’m on the back foot, but that said we get some extra track time Friday before FP1 on Saturday, we’ve been making good progress in recent rounds, despite some bad luck, and I could also click with it straight away. Either way, we’ll do the best we can and have as good a weekend as possible.”

Christian Iddon comes into the weekend off the back of a tough couple of rounds, following injury and a difficult time at the unique Thruxton. However, coming into an equally unique, but more predictable, Cadwell Park, he’s hoping to rediscover the form that saw he and the team making progress at the start of the season in a bid to close the gap to the front runners.

Christian Iddon:

“I’m keen to get going this weekend, which I think is always the way after a difficult weekend, which Thruxton was for us. Obviously Thruxton is a very unique proposition and we’ll now put that behind us and focus on finding a return to our form earlier in the season. We were making a lot of progress before the injury and since then we’ve had a few difficult rounds. I think now we’ll look to kickstart the second half of the season. The Showdown is going to be very difficult, but not impossible. There are six races left to decide it and anything can happen.”
