Team Suzuki Press Office – May 20.

Nina Prinz is to make a return to the German IDM Superbike Championship with two rides planned in the Superstock class aboard a Suzuki GSX-R1000 with Team HPC Power Suzuki run by Denis Hertrampf.

The 30-year-old German from Kassel currently lies second in the Qatar International Road Racing Championship, but following a crash at last weekend’s round – where she returned to the circuit after a visit to hospital to score two further podium positions – she has been undergoing treatment at the Ortema Clinic in Germany; a long-term partner of Suzuki International Europe.

Said Prinz: “After competing with the Suzuki GSX-R1000 in the Qatar International Road Racing Championship this year I’m happy and looking forward to racing in my home country again. With the Suzuki dealer Hertrampf and Suzuki I have two strong partners and for this reason the races should not only be fun, but successful as well. I’m really keen to race and to see my former contenders again.”

Said Thomas Hannecke, Leiter Sport Marketing Motorcycle & ATV, Suzuki International Europe: “Nina looks back on a long career in the IDM which started in 2001 in the 600 Supersport class. When she started Superbike racing in 2006, she immediately showed a good performance and we are keen to see how she does in the Superbike IDM’s Superstock category. Right now, we’ve planned two events in Oschersleben and Hockenheim; two tracks that should suit Nina."

Prinz made her debut 20 years ago on a pocket bike. In 1999 she became German Champion in the pocket bike and midi bike class and one year later Champion of Baden-Württemberg. After a short time in the ADAC Junior Cup she entered the Supersport class in 2001 finishing top-10 overall in 2005. Then she moved successfully to the Superbike and Superstock class. In 2006 and 2007 she became European Women’s Champion in the Superstock 1000 class and in 2007 finished 12th in the IDM Superbike Championship.
