Team Suzuki Press Office – May 31.

Tyco Suzuki has stepped-up its involvement in the British Motocross scene and has signed Martin Barr to the RM-Z-mounted team for this weekend’s Red Bull Pro Nationals Championship race at FatCat in Doncaster in the UK.

Barr – a well-known Championship contender in both outdoor and indoor disciplines, and who has campaigned an RM-Z Suzuki for Philip Neill’s TAS Racing team at the Belfast Supercross in 2010 – joins Red Bull Pro National series leader Stephen Sword in the TAS Racing squad.

Said Barr: “I’m really happy to be joining Tyco Suzuki and I’d like to thank both Philip Neill and Adam Lyons for making it all happen at such short notice. It’s a bit of a rush-job going into this weekend but the Suzuki chassis suits my style of riding and I’ll be arriving there with a big smile on my face. I know I can be fast and I’ll be aiming to repay them with some good results.”

Team Manager Adam Lyons said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer Martin an opportunity with Tyco Suzuki, despite the fact that we were not looking to expand our rider line-up at this stage of the season. The decision was made easier knowing his background and work ethic and also the fact that he has won on Suzuki machinery previously and I believe riding alongside ‘Swordy’ in MX1 will benefit both men on track and also the team.”
